This week’s cocktail is based on a vintage recipe from my grandmother. Her recipe was pretty complicated involving separating eggs, folding in egg whites, cooking over heat, etc. I took the elements of her recipe and made a play on a gin fizz with an egg white. I think it turned out pretty delicious, and my grandma would be proud.
Tommy & Jerry
2 oz. Jamaican rum
1/2 oz. Brandy or bourbon
1 oz. simple syrup
1 egg white

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a dash of nutmeg. Enjoy!
Some heels and pearls just like Marie, who was never without them, even at a picnic….
