With daylight savings and the thaw this past week, I think the perfect cocktail to toast the coming spring is the gin fizz. It’s light, it’s airy, it’s crisp and lemony, just like the burgeoning buds of spring.
While you’re sipping your cocktail, I’ve been inspired by brightly colored printed pants, or flowy printed skirt. They exude the lightness and femininity of the season. Cheer!
The Gin Fizz
1 oz Club soda
2 oz Gin
1 oz Lemon juice
.75 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
1 Egg white (about .5 oz)
Add the club soda to a Collins glass and set aside. Add the remaining ingredients to a shaker and shake without ice for about 10 seconds. Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and shake very well. Double-strain into the prepared glass.
