Paris Fashion Week–Part Deux

If you’ve never seen a true Parisian runway show do yourself a favor and check out the links below to two of my favorite designers, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen (Sarah Burton designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress that’s a little street cred for you).

These shows are just that, shows.  A merging of fashion, art and storytelling.  The staging and setting of these shows rival the sets of Oscar winning movies.  Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen tells a dark fairytale reminiscent of Little Bow Peep and Little Red Riding Hood.

The Chanel show was so true to Mademoiselle’s vision, the democratization of fashion.   As models peruse a grocery store art installation in comfortable, sportswear separates, you can’t get any closer to everyday apparel than that.
