It’s been a busy week, so I’m making another double post.
Yesterday, I had a work party, so I wanted to dress it up a little. I’ve been wanting to wear this pin striped skirt for a while. It’s another skirt that I made. I found a beautiful wool gabardine (such a great fabric to sew with) in the navy pin stripe. I used a Vogue pattern to make this asymetrical a-line skirt. It’s one of my favorite pieces. It’s classic with a twist, the way the pin stripes go diagonal across the bottom of the skirt. I wore a basic black turtleneck so as not to draw much attention from the skirt (although it has a little yoke detail for interest), but added a vintage broach for a focal point.
Today was another, I’m tired, I just want to throw something on. But, this is one of my favorite casual weekend outfits that I can wear to work. The Vera Wang skinny jeans paired with the new cotton pintucked jacket, over the fun striped t-shirt with the lace detail. And, not to be forgotten, the Harley boots. Love it!
