To finish up the “week of dresses”, her e are a few more examples of dresses and how put them with other pieces to create some new outfits.
This teal dress is a great example of stretching a piece multiple seasons. For summer, it’s a great sleeveless, light knit dress to pair with a pair of heeled or wedge sandals. But, to get some more mileage out of it, I’m pairing it with a black turtleneck, tights and a pair of boots (hotness!). The vintage necklace echoes the vertical line of the ruffle.
I love pairing an unexpected flash of color with a neutral. The ruby pumps give this giraffe print dress a sophisticated edge. The jacket give it a polished finish. I would also pair it with a cardigan or even a jean jacket. I’ve also worn blush colored pumps with it to give it a softer, feminine, springy feel.
Finally, this hounds tooth knit dress is one of my favorites. It has some vintage details. I wear it several ways, but I’m pairing here with a jean jacket, boots (!), and a mixed metal necklace. The jacket and boots give it a casual air, but the necklace still brings the polish. I’d wear it with a long-sleeved tee, tights and Mary Jane wedges, or a cardigan and pumps.
Come back next week for the next installment of “Week of”.
